This policy explains what NoTells (the desktop apps for macOS and Windows, and this website) collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to khanow99@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Your notes, briefings, teleprompter scripts and Ask answers are stored on your computer. We do not receive or store them.
- Your OpenAI API key is stored only on your computer. It is never sent to us.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and sign-in method (email and password, or Google). Passwords are handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, and are not visible to us.
- Usage information: when you sign in, the app version, when the app was last open, and how many times you use the Ask feature. This is used to run your account and keep the service working.
- IP address and device identifier: when you use the desktop app we record your IP address and an anonymous hashed identifier of your computer. We use these only to detect abuse, such as repeated sign-ups to reuse the free trial, and to protect accounts.
- Payment information: the package you bought, the amount, the date, and the payment confirmation (screenshot or PDF) you upload. Confirmations are stored privately and are visible only to you and our administrators. We do not receive your card or wallet credentials.
- Support messages: anything you send to our support email.
Ask and OpenAI
When you use hold-to-talk or type a question in Ask, your audio or text is sent directly from your computer to OpenAI using your own API key, under OpenAI's terms and privacy policy. We never see or store that content.
How we use your information
- To create and run your account, trial and paid access.
- To verify payments and extend access.
- To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms, including blocking accounts.
- To contact you about your account or support requests.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.
Who we share it with
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication and file storage.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that serve this website.
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in.
- Authorities, when required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep account and payment records while your account exists and for as long as needed for accounting, security and dispute purposes. Deleting your account removes your profile and uploaded payment confirmations. IP and device records tied to your account are removed with it.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account data by emailing khanow99@gmail.com from your account email. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or to prevent abuse.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access to our database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
NoTells is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
